Mark Edward Haller
September 6, 1957 – January 17, 2025
Mark Edward Haller age 67 of Hammond LA entered in to rest on January 17, 2025 in San Antonio TX. Mark was born in McCook NE on September 6, 1957 to parents Charles R. Haller and Luanne (Beneda) Haller.
Mark graduated from McCook High School in 1975 where his art teacher, Jim Steinke, started him on the path he would follow the rest of his life. He instilled in Mark a love of art that would lead him to Kearney State College and Ray Schultze, an art professor specializing in glass blowing. Mark had found his calling and continued his education at Carnegie Mellon and the Pittsburgh Glass Center.
Mark started his career as a glass artist for L. E. Smith Glass in Pennsylvania and later was employed by Arribus Brothers at Disney World where he helped design and build a glass blowing studio in the Magic Kingdom. However, the corporate life was not what made him happy. He returned to Renaissance Faires and art festivals around the country. His art and glass blowing demonstrations became favorites at Bonnaroo in Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisiana, Missouri, Florida, New York, and Texas. Mark was preparing for the Kerrville show when he died.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nancy Haller-Towne, and his brother David Haller. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Haller, his sisters Linda Clark and Marcia Glenn, his loving family, his Renaissance community, and friends from all over the country. Mark was remarkable father, brother, friend, mentor, and artist.
Mark and his art will be celebrated on April 14, 2025 at 1:00 at the Sherwood Forest Faire site in TX. A second celebration will be held in McCook NE on August 2, 2025.
