LUFKIN, Tex. -Janet Reiners West entered Heaven on Aug. 18, 2024 at the age of 69.

Janet was born on March 23, 1955 the youngest child of Griff and Fern Reiners. She was baptized at St. John’s (Ash Creek) Lutheran Church and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook, Neb, She graduated from McCook High School in 1973.

Janet married Kirk McKillip and they moved to Houston, Tex. after Kirk graduated from UNL. While in Houston, Janet graduated from San Jacinto Junior College. Janet and Kirk divorced and she married Scott West in 1999.

Janet had the biggest heart and was devoted to her family and friends. She loved all dogs, but her mini-schnauzer Bailey held a special place in her heart. Bailey was her traveling companion on trips between Texas and Nebraska.

Janet is survived by her sister Karen (Merv) Troester, sister-in-law Karen Reiners, nieces, nephews and husband Scott West.

She was preceded in death by her parents Griff and Fern Reiners and brother Alan.

McNutt. Funeral Home in Lufkin, Tex, handled the cremation. Inurnment will be at St. John (Ash Creek) at a later date.
