CULBERTSON, Neb. — Michael Herman Brusoe of Culbertson passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017, at El Dorado Manor in Trenton after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 63 years old.

Mike, as he was better known, was born on Sept. 5, 1953, at McCook to parents, Herman H. and Helen M. (Coleman) Brusoe. He graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1972. Shortly after his graduated, Mike entered the U.S. Marines on May 30, 1972, and served his country until March 26, 1978, when he was honorably discharged. He would remain a true and dedicated Marine for the rest of his life.

After the service, Mike returned to McCook, where he was involved with the building of Parker Hannifin. After its completion, Mike would contribute over 30 years of dedicated work as a mill operator until his health would no longer allow him to work.

Mike was united in marriage to Charlene Funk on Oct. 16, 1976, in McCook. To this union a son, Adam, was born.

He was a member of the American Legion and National Rifle Association (NRA). His hobbies included guns, models, movies, games, Husker football, motorcycles, coins, and was a history buff.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Herman and Helen Brusoe.

Survivors include his son, Adam Brusoe and wife, Lindsay of Culbertson; step-son, Brandon Brusoe of McCook; five grandchildren, June Brusoe, Austin Brusoe, Jayden Brusoe, Camron Brusoe and Karson Mayo; and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Memorial services will be Friday, July 21, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jason Smith officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later time.
