McCOOK, Nebraska -- Sherrill Kaye Thayer, 60, died Monday (Nov. 22, 2010), at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

She was born Feb. 18, 1950, in Belleville, Kansas to Sidney Clement and Joan R. (Charbonneau) Allen. She received her elementary education at St. Patrick's School. She continued her high school education in McCook Public Schools graduating in 1969.

Preceding her in death were her father, Sidney Allen; sister, Nancy Martinez; and brother-in-law, Loren Thayer.

Survivors include her son, Larry Thayer and companion, Michelle Lamaak, of McCook; three brothers, Bob Allen of Culbertson, Nebraska, Mike Allen and wife, Brenda of McCook, and Pat Allen and wife, Diana of Herndon, Kansas; three sisters, Lynn and husband, Vony Carfield, Vicky Lampman, and Sandy Schwab, all of McCook; mother, Joan Allen of McCook; one grandson; and other family.

Mass of Christian burial is Monday,10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Rosary will be Sunday, 7 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel.
