Marcia Eileen Brasher

Friday, August 27, 2010

March 17, 1951-June 22, 2010
Beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt, Marcia Eileen Brasher, went to be with our heavenly father on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
Marcia was born in McCook, Nebraska on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1951, to Gerald and Donna Lee Butler and was the oldest of five children.
Marcia was married to her husband Michael, "Mike," in the Methodist Church in McCook, Nebraska on June 6, 1970; they were married for 30 years before becoming widowed in January 2001, when Mike lost his battle to Lupus. Mike was in the Navy where they resided in Long Beach and San Luis Obispo, California before moving to Kennewick, Washington, 33 years ago.
Marcia was a stay at home Mom to her three children, Stephanie, Scott and Stacy, and became a daycare provider, opening her home to many children for 26 years and then to her grandchildren for the last 11 years; all of whom she loved dearly. She was active in her children's school and athletics and never missed a game. Marcia also enjoyed arts and crafts for 30 years, but most memorable was in 1983 when she began Cranbearrie Christmas with her dear friends and partners Linda Russell and Dawnell Reeves, held annually every November for 22 years at Cavanaugh's in Kennewick.
Marcia is preceded in death by her husband Mike, father Gerald, and brother Jerry Rhett.
Marcia is survived by her mother Donna Lee; sisters, Vicki, and Cindy and husband, Brad; brother, Steve and wife, Kim; daughters, Stacy, and Stephanie and husband, Trapp; son, Scott and wife, Ame; grandchildren, Jayln, Brittney, Oceana, Tate, Jenner and Jakeili; nieces, Carie and Kimberly; and nephews, Bryan, Heath and Seth.
A special thanks to Linda Duty who provided in-home care and loving support to Marcia and her family for the last year!
Marcia had a big heart and enjoyed being around and helping people, cooking, entertaining, playing cards, dominoes, showing her grandchildren how to cook and attending their athletic events. She will be missed by all!
A memorial service was not held. A Celebration of Life was on June 26, 2010.
