OMAHA, Nebraska -- Leo B. Miller, 64, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Feb.12, 2014, in Omaha.

Leo was born June 16, 1949, in McCook, Nebraska, to Carl and Augusta (Andrijeski) Miller. He grew up on the family farm northwest of McCook in the St. Ann community. He attended a one room school at St. Ann through the eight grade. He graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1967 and the University Of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture in 1969.

Leo was proud of his service in the United States Navy Seabees, MCB-133, A Company, during the Vietnam conflict. For 8 1/2 years, he was a diesel truck mechanic, service manager and salesman for Curly Olney's Inc. in McCook. He taught agricultural machinery mechanics for eight years at the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Nebaska. He moved to Mitchell, South Dakota, in 1987 and operated a successful Snap-On Tools dealership. He was promoted to field manager for Snap-On Tools in 1990 and moved to Lincoln. Leo received many honors and awards as field manager. A few of the awards are: No. 1 in sales in the branch, No. 1 in sales in the region and No. 2 in sales in the world. Because of cancer, the company retired him in 2004.

He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Cathedral of the Risen Christ, CRC Knights of Columbus Council No. 9563, where he served as chancellor and was a member of the Bishop Kucera Assembly of 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He was active in the Cathedral's Light of the World Evangelization Ministry, Acolyte and EME Minister at Cathedral. He also had an hour of adoration at the Cathedral for many years.

Leo is survived by his wife, Diane of Lincoln; children (spouses) Travis (Krissa) Miller of Lincoln, Amanda (C.J.) Green of Omaha, Colin (Jessica) Miller of Lincoln, Katie (Adam) Buss of Alton, Illinois; grandchildren, Jordan, Levi, Mabel, Samuel and Jacie; siblings (spouses) Richard (Retha) Miller of Cody, Wyoming, La Verne (Bernadette) Miller of Norfolk, Kenneth (Jeanie) Miller of Longmont, Colorado, Charlene (Andrew) Weskamp of Norton, Kansas, Carla (Dewey) Teel of Neligh, Melvin (Jerry) Miller of McCook, Carol (Randy) Lashley of McCook and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial was today at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd., Lincoln. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.
