LINCOLN, Neb. -- Virginia G. (Dike) Schlichting, passed away at her home on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016. She was born to George & Ruth (Davis) Dike in McCook, Neb., on May 10, 1946. Virginia is survived by her husband Marvin Schlichting of the home; five children: Mary Foster (Wichita, Kan.), Larry and Jackie Gardner (Eagle, Neb.), Kendra Wood (Anita, Iowa), Sharon Gardner (Lincoln), Anthony and Amanda Gardner, (Pilsen, Kan.); brothers, Larry and Linda Dike (Sherman, Texas) and Robert and Shirley Dike (McCook); 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth (Davis) Dike; husband, Edward Foster; husband, Kenneth Gardner, Jr.; sister, Sharon Diane (Dike) Ramirez; granddaughter, Amanda Gardner; and niece, Tiffany (Dike) Burks. Cremation was chosen and a private memorial to be held at a later date. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
