Wilbert Fred "Will" Harder    
Aberdeen: Funeral service for Wilbert Fred "Will" Harder, 62, Aberdeen, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday Nov. 30, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 Third Ave. S.E., with Father Kevin Zilverberg officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Neb., with military honors.

Liturgical wake service will be 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Ave. N.W. Visitation was 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, and will be one hour prior to the service today at the church.

Will passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Wilbert Fred Harder was born Feb. 6, 1947, to Albert G. and Erma (Damrow) Harder in McCook, Neb. He graduated from McCook High School in 1965. Will enlisted in the United States Navy on March 10, 1966, and served in the Vietnam Conflict as a Navy Corp Man. Will was a decorated veteran at the time of his honorable discharge on Dec. 1, 1969. Will returned home and attended Milford Vo-Tech and then the Kearney State College.

Will moved to Aberdeen in 1974 to work with Dr. Altman and Dr. Seaman in their ophthalmology practice.

Will and Carol Gillick were united in marriage Nov. 7, 1975, in Aberdeen. Will continued to work in the eye care profession and was employed with Vision Care Associates at the time of his death.

He enjoyed hunting, photography and loved the times he spent with his grandson.

Will is preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Lynn.

Grateful to have shared in Will's life is his wife, Carol, of Aberdeen, S.D.; his daughter, Melanie (Scott) Frerichs, of Mountain Top, Pa.; his grandson, Hunter Frerichs; and his brother, Gale (Shirley) Harder, of Bella Vista, Ark.
