PALISADE, Nebraska -- Terri passed away after a lengthy fight against cancer.

She was 64 years old and the daughter of C.J. and Dorothy Marie Donaldson, who preceded her death. Daughter Martha Ellen Evans passed away with cancer on Oct .8, 2007.

Terri leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Darrell Evans; daughter LuAnn Rector; son-in-law, Rodney Rector; grandchildren, Ayla, Cameo and Duncan Rector of Wauneta, Nebraska;, son, Scott David Evans, Indianola, Nebraska; son, Kiley W. Evans of Laramie, Wyoming and a sister, Patti Wilson of Watkinsville, Georgia.

Terri passed away in their ranch home in Hayes County Nebraska. One of Terri's goals after spending 5 weeks in a hospital receiving treatments for cancer was to go home. She got her wish to be home. She was treated by the hospice nurses who came every day and by her primary care-giver, husband Darrell Evans. She always enjoyed the visits made by neighbors and many friends -- and the countless number of cards and thoughts in her behalf.

Terri enjoyed a full life. Being the mother of four active kids -- there was never a dull moment with school activities 4-H and FFA. Terri drove a school bus for a few years.

She enjoyed her flock of laying hens, gardening, and her flower beds. Terri was always ready to lend a steady hand in the operation of their ranch -- be it sorting hogs or working calves.

Watching the grandkids grow-up and going to their activities was always a joy for her. She was one of the charter members of the Night-n-Gals Extension Club of Hayes County.

Terri grew up in McCook at the family home of 511 East 4th Street. She attended McCook Schools through Jr. High, graduating from high school at Hastings High in 1965. Her childhood roots were always firmly planted in McCook and she graduated from McCook Junior College. She also attended Colorado State University. She will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be given in her name to the McCook Community Hospital Home Health/Hospice or Union Congregational United Church of Christ.

Visitation will be today, Nov. 28, 2011, from 1-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hayes Center with Pastor Jean Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Hayes Center Cemetery.
