Leanne K. James (nee Garver), age 76, a resident of Naperville, IL since 2003, formerly of Schaumburg, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born on July 8, 1945 in Oberlin, KS. Long time partner of Mark Sorensen, loving mother of Melissa (Don) Beck-Cox of Naperville and Laurie (Karl) Schlossnagle of Layton, UT, adored grandmother of Brittney (Greg) Ripley, Meagan (Julie) Benedetto and Kendra Buchele, cherished great-grandmother of Nolan Ripley, dear sister of Meredith (Lynn) Schneider, devoted daughter of the late Kenneth "Rex" and Nola (nee Ridgeway) Garver, and fond aunt, great-aunt and friend of many. Leanne was known for her incredibly kind nature, gracious stubbornness, and timeless style and class when it came to clothes, home decor, and more. She was a bandwagon sports fan (Go Cubs Go!), had a green thumb, could get a stain out of anything, came prepared with beautifully wrapped gifts for all occasions, and was happiest when snuggled up with her heated blanket and Club crackers. Leanne faced an uphill battle with health challenges that she fought with tenacity until the end. She was oh so loved and will be missed by those closest to her. Services and interment are private.
