Bev was born on Nov. 5, 1943, to Clyde and Lola (James) Johnette in Fort Smith, Ark. She graduated from McCook High School in 1961. On Feb. 3, 1962, she married James Martin.

In her later years, she enjoyed reading and caring for her plants. Bev also collected bells and plates and was an Elvis fan.
