Married Johnny Gettman Class of '59 in September 1960. Lived in Denver for three years and then moved to Santa Barbara, Ca to be with family. John and I owned our own printing business for over 35 years at the same location in Goleta, s suburb of Santa Barbara. I was also very busy being the soccer Mom. Even played myself. Raised two wonderful children.
In 1993 John and I moved to Santa Maria, California. I had my own Allstate Ins. office and John commuted to S.B. for ten years. The Mom and Pop services in Santa Barbara were put out of business by Los Angeles Corporations, which ended our small business to the point where our son John is now keeping Fotoscreen alive with graphic arts and small printing jobs.
I lost John on June 11, 2005 of a massive heart attack while he was alsleep. Little comfort to the family.
I published a book about two years ago. It was an autobiography and helped me in my mourning process.
I Retired from my job as Senior Nutrition Host at our local senior center. It was a rewarding job, as this meal was the only one that some of these elderly people had daily.
I now fill my time walking four miles a day, swimming as much as I can and a volunteer for SPCA.
I am looking forward to the reunion next year. It has been a very long time since I have seen my classmates.
Driving back on old Route 66. A few prayers would be appreciated.

I have so many wonderful and funny memories of good old McCook High. It is hard to choose one.

I was in the marching band from seventh grade until 11th grade. At football games we would perform by forming different messages, etc.

At that time North Platte was our big rival. We were to march in front of their cheering section and spell out the word HELLO. However, after several minutes of forming the word, to the crowds astonishment, the clarinet and flute section ended up at the wrong end of the field which changed the greeting to OHELL. Of course this was planned and took many days of practice, but we pulled it off. Those in error realized their error and ran swiftly to their proper hash marks. Silence then turned to laughter.

We knew it was planned, but the crowd and North Platte fans did not.

I know that I never spilled the beans. Don't think anyone else did either.
