GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- John Edmund Bahl, 75, formerly of McCook and North Platte, died Sunday (May 15, 2016) at Grand Island.

He was born June 29, 1940, to William and Geraldine (Tumbleson) Bahl in McCook.

He completed school in McCook and married Linda Mae Beck, also of McCook, on Dec. 18, 1966.

He worked in construction and in mechanical endeavors.

Survivors include children, William of Lincoln, Neb., Julie Sanders of Hays, Kan. and Holly (Andrew) Mattox of Overland Park, Kan.; brothers, Dan (Jane) of Wichita, Kan., Tom (Midge) of Oak Point, Texas, Tim (Laurie) of Gering Neb., Phil (Pat) of Omaha and Roch (Vickie) of Lincoln; ex-wife, Linda; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services are Friday, May 20, 2016, 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in McCook. Rosary is Thursday, May 19, 2016, 7 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.
