Jesse Cain - Class Of 1957

Jesse E. Cain, age 79, of Kearney, NE, formally of McCook, NE passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019 in Kearney. Jesse was born May, 1, 1940 in Rural Red Willow County to parents Daniel W. “Bill” and Geneva E. (Fox) Cain. He was one of four children who grew up in McCook, attending school and graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1957. Jesse went on to further his education at Southeast Community College in Milford, NE and Kearney State College, Kearney where he obtained the following degrees: an Associate’s Degree in Auto Mechanics, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education, and Bachelor of Arts in Cooperative Education. Jesse was a Vocational - Technical Instructor at Western Nebraska Community College in Sidney, NE and Southwest Kansas Area Vocational – Technical School in Dodge City, KS. Jesse was a member of the 1st Christian Church in McCook, a mentor in the Big Brothers Program, a lifetime member of the NRA as well as a proud Republican. He enjoyed drag racing, collecting guns, hunting, fishing, gardening, boating and camping. Jesse enjoyed attending car shows and owned several Chevy Performance Vehicles throughout the years. He was especially proud of his 1969 Chevy Camaro. Jesse was an avid reader who spent countless hours reading American Indian and western suspense books. Later in life, he enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and small engines. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Michael Stark; and niece, Terra Foster. Those left to celebrate his life include brother, Dennis Cain of McCook; sisters, Sylvia Cain of Cozad, NE and Cindy Stark of North Platte, NE; special aunt, Lois Cain of McCook, NE; nephew, Eric and wife Lindsey Foster and family of McCook; and niece, Fauna Garcia and special friend James Pringle and family of McCook.
