McCOOK, Neb. — Arleigh Laverne Kincaid, age 78, of McCook, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Community Hospital in McCook.

Arleigh was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Cambridge, Neb., to parents, Albert and Eola (Watson) Kincaid. He was one of five children. Arleigh attended school in McCook, graduating with the Class of 1955.

Following high school, Arleigh proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He joined Oct. 30, 1957, and was honorably discharged on Jan. 15, 1962. Arleigh then furthered his education by attending trade school to become an electrician.

In April 1959, Arleigh married Carolyn England in McCook. To this union four daughters were born; Sharry, Donna, Brenda and Patricia. In 1973, Arleigh married Kay Munn in Colby, Kan. They were blessed with a son, David.

Arleigh married Brenda (DeMoss) Kincaid on Jan. 1, 1982, in Greeley, Colo. The couple made their home in McCook, where they were members of Memorial United Methodist Church. Over the years, Arleigh worked as a city manager in many different communities including Stratton, Neb., Colby, Kan., Arnold, Neb., and Wauneta, Neb. Before his retirement, Arleigh was the plant manager of Hartman Telephone Company from 1983 to 2008.

He in his spare time, Arleigh enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting as well as building guns and reloading. He also spent time riding his Harley motorcycle and shared a love for animals with Brenda. He especially loved his dogs and always made a home for stray cats.

Arleigh was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ellis Kincaid; two granddaughters, Nichole and Shelby; and two great-granddaughters, Bryn and Madlyn.

Arleigh is survived by his wife, Brenda Kincaid, of the home in McCook; four daughters, Sharry Wagner of McCook, Donna (Jerry) Blake of McCook, Brenda (Leon) Montgomery of Northport, Fla., and Patricia (Larry) Eckoff of Scott CIty, Kan.; son, David Kincaid of Rio Rancho, N.M.; three sisters, LaDonna Larreau of McCook, Vivian Collins of Holdrege, Neb., and Cheryl Yoder of McCook; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m., with family present to greet friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Hamburg Cemetery near Danbury, Neb.
