NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Jack Dean Bahl, 75, of North Platte, passed away Nov. 21, 2013, at Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Jack was born in McCook, Nebraska, on Jan. 21, 1938, to Leopold "Bus" and June (Sines) Bahl. He grew up and attended school in McCook, where he graduated in the class of 1956. In the early 1960s, Jack worked in construction. In 1970, Jack went to work for the State of Nebraska Scales Department and later transferred into Public Service Commission until 1986. On May 19, 1973, Jack was united in marriage to June West Neverve. In 1987, Jack and June moved to Kearney, where Jack worked at the Watson Chrysler Dealership. In 1988, Jack and June moved to North Platte, where he worked for Bob Spady Buick until 1999. He then worked for Weather Craft Roofing until 2009. For the past four years, he worked for P.C. Labs in North Platte, as a courier. Organizations Jack was active in include: McCook Elks Lodge No. 1434, where he was a Past Exalted Ruler, North Platte Elks Lodge No. 985, Eagles Club, Moose Lodge and the Nebraska Admirals.

Jack is survived by his wife, June of 40 years; step-sons, Conrad (Heidi) Neverve of Kearney, Dallas (Denise) Neverve of Lincoln, Russell (Cherry) Neverve of Kearney, Brent Neverve of Lincoln, and Bradley (Sue) Neverve of Lincoln; his sister, Janet (Ron) Thompson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sister-in-law, JoAnn West of North Platte; four granddaughters, three grandsons, three great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bus and June Bahl; sister, Judy Cappel; mother and father-in-law, Truman and Nellie West; brother-in-law, Jake West; and a sister-in-law, Delores Meyer.

Cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte with Pastor Gary Smith officiating.
