Phyllis Jeannine Reynolds, age 84, of McCook, passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 19, 2021, at Community Hospital in McCook. Jeannine was born on Dec. 5, 1936, in Oberlin, Kan., to Marion and Lee Ora (Lawver) Mockry. She grew up on the Mockry farm in Decatur County, Kan., and attended school in Cedar Bluffs and McCook. Jeannine married Stanley Reynolds on June 13, 1954, at the Assembly of God Church in McCook. Stan and Jeannine made McCook their home and to this union four children were born: Lyn, Carli, Debbie, and Paul. Jeannine was a devoted wife and mother. She took great pride in her family and supported each of them in their various activities and accomplishments. After raising her children, she went on to work at DeGroff’s Department store for six years in the fabric department. Jeannine could do amazing things with fabric and her needle and thread. She was an outstanding seamstress, producing countless works of love for her children’s and grandchildren’s special days. Her skilled hands created everyday clothing for her young family as well as many bridesmaid dresses and wedding gowns. Jeannine was a woman of faith. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in McCook for all of her adult life. She was active in the congregation; it would be impossible to guess how many bible studies she took part in. In addition to being a Sunday School teacher, Jeannine was also a gifted musician and played the piano for the church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lee Mockry; and her grandson, Landen Reimer. Left to carry on her memory are her husband of 67 years, Stanley Reynolds of McCook; son, Lyn (Marcia) Reynolds of Cedar Bluffs, Kan.; daughter, Carli (Leonard) Reimer of Highlandville, Mo.; daughter, Debbie (Gregg) Thee of St. Cloud, Fla.; son, Paul (Kristine) Reynolds of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Lyndsi, Grant, Amber, Larissa, Stephen, Shane, and Sarah; 12 great-grandchildren; and her niece, Ronda (Jeremy) Pinkerman of Dakota Dunes, S.D.. Visitation is today, Oct. 21, 2021, until 6 p.m., at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. The family will be present to greet friends from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at the Assembly of God Church in McCook. Interment will follow services in the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. Memorials may be given to the family of Jeannine Reynolds for future designation.
