In Memory

Victor Fuller - Class Of 1954

Victor G Fuller, known to many as Vic, passed away peacefully May 2, 2021, at the age of 85. After his wife of 45 years, Betty, passed away, Vic had a lot of time on his hands, so he started to write his own obituary. The events below are those that he chose to highlight to share with family and friends. Vic was born on the family farm in Franklin County, Nebraska to Earl and Mary Fuller. He attended high school in McCook, NE, where his love of sports started, playing football, golf and running track. In 1955, Vic joined the United States Air Force and served until 1966. During his time of service, in addition to his security duty, Vic coached various sports and ran the recreation and physical fitness programs. He was stationed at Kingsley AFB. Stephenville, Newfoundland, Selfridge AFB, Malmstrom AFB and F. E. Warren AFB. In 1966, Vic went to work for Job Corps in McCook, NE where he started out as a dormitory shift supervisor and softball coach. From there he accepted a position at the Columbia Basin Job Corps as a Recreation Specialist. There, along with his staff, he established an intramural sports program for the students. Eventually, he was promoted to Director of Residential Living but stayed involved with the recreation program through coaching and officiating. After he retired in 1987, Vic continued to be involved in coaching, this time assisting with various successful softball teams, from 12U Tournament Teams through the 1995 MLHS Freshman Softball Team. During his retirement, he and his wife of 45 years, Betty, also started raising Holstein Heifers on their small acreage North East of Moses Lake. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty. Survived by their two daughters, daughter, Laurie (Ron) Coombs and their children, Brianne (Matt) Hickman (children Gavin and Jared), Sutton (Kirsten) Coombs (children Dylan and Reese), Brody Coombs (daughter Ashlynn); daughter Teressa Fuller and her children, Gabrielle and Jonah; Son, Mark (Heidi) Fuller and their children, Kelvin, Vivian and Malcom.
