BRYANT, Ark. -- Mary (Dinnel) Podhajsky, 78, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away Feb. 27, 2015.

She was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Lester Dinnel and Irma (Milburn) Dinnel. She graduated from McCook High School in 1954. Mary spent many years, from 1974 through 1981, working in the area of motel/hotel management, which consisted of managing food and beverage departments and supervising housing and maintenance departments within her employment in the hotel industry. She was awarded the Administrative Employee of the Year in 1981 from the Plaza Cosmopolitan Hotel in Denver, Colorado. She designed a cost-effective and efficient procedure for scheduling a large staff. Her work experiences took her from Little Rock, Arkansas, to Claremore, Oklahoma, Jacksonville, Arizona, and Denver, Colorado.

Mary loved raising her six children and working. Mary was married to Ramon Horinek of Atwood, Kansas, in February 1955. To this union six children were born. In 1969, she married Eugene Podhajsky from Arkansas.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Horinek and brother, Robert Fuller.

She is survived by her children, son, Michael Horinek, daughters, Kathryn Martin, Loretta Owens, Ramona Horinek and Teri Von Gausig, and 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Other survivors include, sisters, Phyllis and husband, Dale Wilcox, Lesta and husband, LeRoy Jaggers and Beverly and husband, Phil Rhea, all of McCook; and a brother, Ronald Fuller of Ashland Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

Chapel services were at the Ashby Funeral Home on Feb. 28, in Bryant, with burial at Fowler Cemetery, Paron, Arkansas.
