Lane Miller - Class Of 1953

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Lane Franklin Miller was born on July 10, 1935, in McCook, Neb., to Vivian (Ridnour) and Loren Miller. When Lane was three years old, his mother died of peritonitis and Lane was raised by his father and grandmother, Annitta Ridnour. Lane graduated from McCook High School in 1953 and immediately left for Redondo Beach, Calif., to join his father, step-mother, brother, and sisters. He was employed by Mercury International Company in the Southern California area and Chicago. In 1954, Lane enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Biloxi, Miss., Waterloo, Iowa, and Findland, Minn. After honorably discharged from the military, Lane returned to Redondo Beach where he worked and attended El Camino College. In 1958, he married Joni Raiford in Ontario, Calif. Two sons, Stephen and Bruce, were born to this union. In 1980, he married Nancy Lee Hubert. They lived in Lakeside, Calif., until he retired from Alta Dena Dairy, at which time they moved to Grand Junction. Lane was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian; father, Loren; step-mother, Pauline; grandmother, Annitta Ridnour; brother, Hollis (Skip); sister, Patricia Morris, and son, Bruce. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Stephen (Kate) of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Delores Owen of Torrance, Calif.; grandsons, Ryan (Carrie) and Jacob (Aubrey); great-granddaughters, Dakota and Evelyn of San Diego; and sister-in-law, Dixie Miller of Cloverdale, Calif.
