GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado -- Hazel (Kennedy) Frezieres, 77, passed away on Monday (June 21, 2010) at St. Mary's Hospital due to a stroke.

Hazel was born to Robert and Vera (Pate) Kennedy in McCook, Nebraska, where she spent her childhood and graduated from McCook High School.

On Aug. 19, 1952, she married Gerald Jaeger of McCook. They lived in Pensacola, Florida before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado.

On Dec. 14, 1968, she married John Frezieres and together they have lived on their farm north of Fruita, Colorado for the past 41 years.

Hazel was a secretary for the 4-H Extension Service and CSU Diagnostic Lab until her retirement in 1986.

Hazel enjoyed gardening and watching her daily soap operas, something she never missed, with her dog, Zack. Most of all she enjoyed doing for others and especially enjoyed making her "No Bake Cookies" for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Roger; and her grandson, Wesley Manchester.

Survivors include her husband, John of Fruita; son, Randy and wife, Ramona Jaeger of Silt, Colorado; two daughters, Tami and husband, Russ Parker, and Traci and husband, Bill Clary both of Grand Junction; sister, Helen Vaughn of Holdrege, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction. Burial will follow at the New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.
