Margaret McGinley Margaret McGinley
(December 2, 1931 - September 12, 2012)

 

Mary Margaret McGinley passed away on 9/12/12 after a short stay at the Washington County Nursing Home. She was born on December 2, 1931 on a farm outside of Imperial, NE in Chase County. She was the oldest child of Homer and Helen Jaeger. She graduated from McCook High School in 1949 and worked as a telephone operator. She married James A. McGinley in McCook, NE on 11/11/1950 and moved to Akron, CO in 1952. They have four children; Mike McGinley, Lynn McGinley, Tim McGinley and Susan Barker. Margaret was a stay-at-home wife and mother until 1974, when she began working as a secretary at the Y-W Electric Association. She retired from the Y-W in 1995. She and her husband, Jim, ran the Akron Teen Center from 1970-1980. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gerald Jaeger and Stuart Jaeger. She is survived by her husband, Jim; their son Mike and his wife Rosemarie of Granby, CO; their daughter Lynn of Denver, CO; their son Tim and his wife Pam of Las Vegas, NV; their daughter Susan Barker and her husband Leo of Las Animas, CO; and her brother Eugene Jaeger and his wife Charlene of Arvada, CO. She has seven grandchildren; Stephanie, Candice, Ashley, Sara, Erin, Andrea and Eric and three great grandchildren; Quinn, Connor and RJ. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Akron. Memorial donations may be made to the Washington County Nursing Home or to the Akron Lions Club. Brenner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
