Marvin Roth - Class Of 1949

Marvin Roth, of Lincoln, (formerly of Nebraska City) passed away at home on April 14, 2017. Marvin began his life on April 26, 1930 in McCook Nebraska, born to John and Anna Roth. Upon graduating from McCook High School Marvin married Phyllis Hershberger of Culbertson Nebraska; they were married for almost 65 years. Phyllis preceded Marvin in death on March 7, 2015.

Marvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who always shared his love, support and guidance with his family in everything they did. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Phyllis to many Nebraska football, basketball and volleyball games.

Marvin will be dearly missed by daughter, Susan and husband, Jeff; son, John and wife, Peggy; son, Terry and wife, Pam; son, Gregg and wife, Miriam; son, Kirwin “Ki” and wife, Michelle. Grandchildren, Andrea “Andi” Hart; Corey (Sima) Hart; Heather (Derek) Bothern; Justin (Emily) Roth; Christine (Chris) Johanson; Alicia Roth; Kevin Roth; Evan Roth; Cole Roth; and Kaden Roth. Great grandchildren, Jordan Bothern; Emma Bothern; Andrew Morris; Shayda Hart and Lyla Johanson. He is survived by his sister Jeanette Reynolds and was preceded in death by his parents and siblings John Roth, Jr.; Mary Uhrich; Pauline Walters; Hank Roth; Ruben Roth; Ray Roth; Ed Roth; Lorraine Hoffman; Louisa Roth; Al Roth.

Private inurnment will be at a later date in Camp Creek Cemetery, rural Nebraska City, Nebraska. There will be no public viewing/visitation at the request of the Roth family as Marvin’s wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marvin’s name may be directed to the family for later designation to his favorite charities.
