Evelyn Enzian

April 2, 1931 — December 31, 2018

Evelyn J. Enzian, age 87, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2018, at the home she shared with her son's family after a short illness.

Evelyn was born April 2, 1931 in McCook, Nebraska. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Enzian; her parents William and Helen Abernathy; her sister Dorothy Olsson; and her granddaughter Melanie Freeman. Evelyn will be forever remembered by her daughter Christi Crosby, her two sons Kevin Enzian (Jean) and Randy Enzian (Renee'); her oldest sisters Nina Wilkerson and Shirley Bobier; her four grandchildren Eric Crosby, Lisa O'Connor, Brittney Enzian, and Adam Enzian; as well as several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Growing up with three sisters in rural Nebraska was rough during the depression - sometimes living in a sod house at an early age. Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed school and excelled in English and the debate team in high school. After high school she married Richard in Cheyenne, WY where he was stationed as a member of the US Air Force. They traveled throughout the United States and were stationed at various bases in Wyoming, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, and Texas. She spent most of her time raising their three children and also did volunteer work at various hospitals and charitable organizations. Her hobbies included 5k races, reading, bunko, and later years the Red Hat Ladies Society. Evelyn was known for her great sense of humor, her quick wit, and her kind and compassionate heart. She will truly be missed very much by all.

A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 with Visitation from 3:00-4:00 PM and Service at 4:00 PM at Rose Lawn Funeral Home located at 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, Florida. Interment will be at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Texas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice (Pensacola) 5041 N 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504, the American Cancer Society, or a charity special to you.
