Opal Trainer (Gregg) - Class Of 1947

Opal Marie Gregg MAY 20, 1928 – JANUARY 12, 2019 IN THE CARE OF Ahlberg Funeral Chapel Opal Marie Gregg passed away on January 12, 2019 at her home in Longmont, Colorado. She was 90 years old.Opal was born in Cambridge, Nebraska to Charles and Alta Mae (Easton) Trainer, the third youngest of six siblings. She graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1946.In 1949 she married Virgil Schilz, they were together for 25 years.Opal taught upholstery and woodworking at the University of Nebraska North Platte and Woodworking at McCook Community College. She was a member of the United Memorial Methodist Church in McCook. Opal was a self-taught custom seamstress, she enjoyed making men's suits. She was a good cook and liked to play pinochle with her friends.Opal was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Kenneth, Orval and Richard Trainer and her sister Ethel McWilliams.She is survived by her children Mike (Lenora) Schilz and Laurie (LaVern) Leibbrandt; her grandchildren Stacy, Tracy, Justin and Jael; her great-grandchildren Brylee and Marshall and her brother Don Trainer.Private family services will be held.
