McCOOK, Neb. -- Betty Jean Krieger, age 86, of McCook, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015.






Betty was born June 13, 1928, in McCook to parents John Frederick and Myrtle Belle (Blake) Masters. She was one of four daughters. At a very young age, she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Mary and Bert Masters. Betty grew up in McCook and attended McCook High School.

On July 10, 1946, Betty married Merlin Krieger in Oberlin, Kansas. The couple was blessed with three daughters: Linda, Betty and Deborah.

Betty attended McCook Christian Church. She enjoyed selling Avon for many years. In her free time, she liked to go camping, crocheting, attending her grandchildren's events and loving and caring for her many pets.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Oma McDougal and Georgia Potter.

Betty is survived by her husband, Merlin Krieger, of McCook; three daughters Linda (Jim) Shaw of Yerington, Nevada, Betty (Roger) Brush and Debbie (Jim) Jenkins all of McCook; sister, Delores Henton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 16, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
