OLATHE, Kan. -- Marian Louise Farrell, age 88, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015, at Santa Marta Skilled Living Home in Olathe.
Marian was born in Denver, Colorado, on Oct. 7, 1926, to Norbert Joseph and Anna Clare (McKenna) McKillip. She graduated from McCook High School in 1945. Marian first attended St. Mary's in Leavenworth, Kansas, and then transferred to McCook Community College, where she received a teaching certificate and her associate degree.
On Aug. 25, 1949, she married Warren Francis Farrell at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. To this union four children were born. Their first child, Mary Jo, was stillborn. Marian taught at St. Patrick's Catholic School until she and Warren started a family. The Farrell's made their home in McCook, where Warren and Marion co-owned Farrell's Pharmacy & Gifts until their retirement. Marian enjoyed flower gardening. She was a member of the McCook Cordials, and an active member of St. Patrick's parish.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren, on Jan. 24, 2010; daughter, Mary Jo; two brothers, Don and Leo; and one sister, Dreda.
Survivors include her 3 sons, 6 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Visitation is today until 6 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
