Mary Catherine Magrath (Mag) Curtis, 83, passed away on Friday, April 9th, 2010 at home in Boulder, Colorado after a long and glorious life.

Extraordinary mother, friend and companion, Mag was born on May 3rd, 1926 in McCook, Nebraska to Dr. Leo Magrath and Catherine Fox Magrath. After attending St. Mary of the Woods and Creighton University, Mag pursued postgraduate work at the University of Colorado in Chemistry and French where she met her husband, George William Curtis, III.

Mag married Dr. George William (Bill) Curtis on September 27, 1951 in Brussels, Belgium, where Bill was born.  Mag is survived by her husband Bill, 4 children and 14 grandchildren.  The children are Kevin Curtis (and spouse Mary McKenna)
of Silver Spring, MD; Sean Curtis (and spouse Ngozi Okezie) of Chappaqua, NY; Brigitte Curtis of Lubbock, TX; and Moira Curtis McCabe (and spouse Kevin McCabe) of Denver, Colorado.  Mag is also survived by her brother, Dr. Joseph Magrath of Santa Fe, New Mexico plus numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Mag had a wonderful, adventurous spirit, a love of travel and, above all, was Irish to the core.
She died of complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy(PSP).  She is preceded in death by both parents and her brothers: Barney Magrath, Larry Magrath and Frank Magrath.

The funeral service will be held at the St. Thomas parish catholic church at 2pm, Thursday, April 15 and will be followed by a celebration of Mag’s life at the Hotel Boulderado.  In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Lafayette, CO  80026.
