Eileene A. Rapp, 87, of Kearney died Monday, July 23, 2012.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Sharon Hansen will officiate and burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements.

She was born January 4, 1925 to Jay and Bessie (Carter) Poore at their home in Red Willow County, Nebraska. She grew up in the McCook area where she attended Red Willow country school then graduated from McCook High School in 1942.

On November 10, 1946 she married John W. Rapp. They lived in McCook then moved to the Axtell area in 1958. Eileene moved to Kearney in 2010.

She attended the Christian Science Church. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Farmerettes Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing cards and bowling.

She is survived by two daughters: Janice and husband Carroll Soderquist of Axtell, NE; and Elaine and husband Todd Pease of Axtell, NE; one son: Kelly and wife Laureen Rapp of Kearney, NE; ten grandchildren and fifteen great- grandchildren; one son-in-law: Leon May of Omaha, NE; one
sister:Phyllis Alberts of McCook, NE; one brother:Virgil Poore of Bassett, Virginia; and one sister-in-law: Verna Poore of McDonald, KS

She was preceded in death by her husband; John in 1993, daughter; Karen in 2010, and brother; Jack in 2007.
