HETTINGER, ND - Betty Jane Hoyt, 88, died Nov. 4, 2014, in Hettinger. She was born Jan. 18, 1926, to Dean and Emma Hoyt. She graduated from McCook High School. She married Paul Carlson. They later divorced. She was employed by the United States government and was stationed at Air Force bases in Texas, California and Japan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Emma Hoyt; sister, Nadine Stramel and brother. Merlin. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Hoyt of Lemmon, South Dakota and step-brother, Bruce Bailey of Eagan, Minnesota. Services were Nov. 15, 2014, in Lemmon, South Dakota.
