Mary Murray
November 23, 1924 - April 17, 2024
Mary Louise Murray, 99, of Cody, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 17, 2024. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Mary Louise was born November 23, 1924, in McCook Nebraska. After losing the family farm during the Depression, the family moved to Denver Colorado. She enrolled in the Army Cadet Nursing Program, where she obtained her RN certificate. With WWII coming to an end, she took her skills to the Veteran Hospital in Denver. It was there she met a patient, Glenn C Murray, who later became her husband November 7, 1951.
Her nursing career continued for more than 45 years in Colorado, where they set up their home and raised their family.
She and Glenn moved to Cody in 2005 to be closer to their daughter, Becky Walsh and their granddaughter Tasa Brost.
She is survived by her four children: Gary, Becky, Kim, and Joe, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn and her sister Joan.
Funeral services will be at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10am. Graveside services will follow at Riverside Cemetery, with refreshments to follow back at the funeral home.
