Charles "Wayne" Poore, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, McCook, Nebraska. Wayne was born on November 23, 1923 to William Forrest and Mildred Devona (Modrell) Poore in Red Willow County, Nebraska.
Wayne graduated from McCook (NE.) High School in 1941. He went on to McCook (NE.) Community College and the University of Colorado and later he joined the US Army, serving in Scotland and France from 1944 to 1946.
Wayne married Edna G. Bruns in McCook on June 22, 1947.
Wayne was a member of the McCook Masonic Lodge 135 AF and AM, he served on the Community Hospital Board for 6 years as a member and a treasurer, Tri-State Livestock board for many years, a Member of the Eastern Star and the Elks. He enjoyed fly fishing and tying his own flies, hunting, reading and wood working.
Preceding Wayne in death were: parents; son, George Allison; sisters, Bonnie Jean and Marjorie and brothers, Don and Bill.
Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2014 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Dr. Rev. Doug Griger as officiator.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook, Nebraska.
