☆~ VETERAN, WORLD WAR II (1939-1945) ~☆

 

David Jay "Laddie" Hayes died Friday (Oct. 5, 2012), at his home in El Seqcando, California. He was born in McCook, Nebraska, Oct. 31, 1923, to Francil Dee Hayes and Viola Niccolson.

 

He graduated from McCook High School in 1941 and attended McCook Junior College. He was drafted in the U.S. Army and fought in the South Pacific Theater during World War Two. He married Charlotte Mary O'Neil of Wauneta, Nebraska. They moved to Southern California where he received his bachelor's degree from UCLA. He worked in the aerospace industry.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francil and Viola; wife, Charlotte Mary; sons, David and John and granddaughter, Elizabeth; and brother, Larry G. Hayes. Survivors include his sons, Randy, William and Brian; sister, Lois Hoff of Wauneta; daughter-in-law, Mary; sister-in- law, Donna Christner Hayes of Colorado Springs, Colorado and five grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at St. Patrick's Church in Imperial, Nebraska with the Rev. Bernard Lorenz officiating. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.
