Bernadine Hubert Suggs

LEESVILLE, SC

 Funeral services for Bernadine Hubert Suggs, 91, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 415 Wilson Street, Batesburg, SC 29006 with interment in St. Alban's Episcopal Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ted Higgins will conduct the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Suggs was born October 28, 1922 in St. Francis, Kansas and grew up in McCook, Nebraska. She passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013. Mrs. Suggs was a daughter of the late Sidney R. Hubert and Mary Ann Roach Hubert. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She joined the Navy in 1943 and served her country through August of 1946. Bernadine and George Kenneth Suggs, Jr. were married June 19, 1946. Surviving are sons, Sid Suggs of Leesville, SC, Steve Suggs of Baconton, GA, David Suggs (Pam) of Sarasota, FL and Scott Suggs (Cris) of McCormick, SC; granddaughter, Brittany Suggs; grandsons, Cale Suggs (Livia) and Matthew Suggs; great-grandsons, Colton Suggs and Corbin Suggs; sisters, Lorraine Vinson, Mary Lou Drake (Richard),Nancy Lee Miller (Lane) and brother, John C. Hubert (Eileen). She was predeceased by her husband, G. Kenneth Suggs; sister, Inez and brother, Neal. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Oakleaf Village, especially the Oakhaven unit for their friendship, care and compassion.
