Evelyn Frank (Morgan) - Class Of 1940

Evelyn Morgan, age 95, originally from McCook, Neb., died unexpectedly, but peacefully at St. Mary Hospital in Nebraska City, on May 30, 2018. Evelyn was born on Aug. 25, 1922, in McCook, the daughter of Casper and Catherine (Frank) Frank. She graduated with the class of 1940 from McCook High School. She enjoyed hosting activities for her class reunions. Over the years, she worked in retail at Hershberger Music Store and later DeGroff’s Department Store. Earlier in life, she did the monthly statements at the McCook Dental Lab for over 50 years. She always put others’ needs before her own and was loved by the nurses at the hospital and the staff at Morton Assisted Living. She had been very active at First Congregational Church and loved helping decorate for every occasion and enjoyed coming up with money-making projects. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Roedel and Joe Morgan; young siblings, Hulda and Harry and siblings, Joe and Ben Frank, Darlene Grimm, and Alvena Breitling. She is survived by sister, Jean Reed of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter, Jackie (Phil) Kuhr of Hamburg, Iowa; step-son, Don (Aileen) Morgan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Andy, Nick and Katie Kuhr, Joe (Linda) and Jay (Courtney) Morgan; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and friends. Memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel, McCook. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational Church in McCook with Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is entrusted with arrangements.
