Mary Bernice “Bea” Wilson of Corpus Christi passed away early Monday morning at her home surrounded by her children. Bea was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, David P. Wilson and three of her siblings, Freddie, Patty and Charlie. She is survived by her five children and their (spouses): Margaret Aiken of Slidell, LA; Martha and (Chris) Carter of Centennial, CO; Kathleen and (Ernie) Muensenberger of Corpus Christi; Michael and (Eva) Wilson of Corpus Christi; and Jeffrey and (Gail) Wilson of Murumbeena, Victoria, Australia; and one sister, Katie O’Neil of McCook, NE. Bea had eleven grandchildren: Jimmy, Colleen, Benjamin, Laura, Stephanie, Emily, Thomas, Matthew, Dustin, Amy and Hannah, and eleven great-grandchildren: Rebeka, Erin, Maddie, Mary Claire, Athan, Becket, Anna Tess, Ella, Grace, Lucy and Nickolas.

A long-time resident of Corpus Christi, Bea was active in her church and community for many years. She served as a volunteer member of the Spohn Hospital Auxiliary, running the gift shop and serving patients for 25 years. She was very active in her church community throughout her life and was a member of St. Pius Parrish.

In recent years she has been aided by her special friend and caregiver, Holly Wilkinson. Holly describes our Mom as “one classy lady”.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.   Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park
