MONTROSE, Colo. -- Willard E. Losh, known as "Bo" to many members of his extended family and friends, died on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at the age of 88.

Bo, the fifth of five children, was born in Traer, Kan., on Oct. 4, 1917, the son of Icy Ephraim Losh and Cora Mae (Gordon) Losh. Bo was raised on a farm outside McCook.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for seven years, from 1938 until 1945.

Bo retired in 1973 from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation after 30 years of government service.

Bo was an avid outdoorsman. He loved and greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, bicycling, tennis, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, camping and climbing mountains, including many of the Colorado 14ers.

Surviving family members who were blessed to share Bo's life include his daughter, Vicki Jo and husband, Keith Schubert of Aurora, Colo.; a son, Michael E. Losh and wife, Joy of Cortez, Colo.; a granddaughter, Kimberly and husband, Adam Glueckert of Aurora; a grandson, Micah Schubert and wife, Cara of Aurora; great-grandson, Logan Glueckert of Aurora; a brother, Russel G. Losh of Denver; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents; his loving and devoted wife of nearly 51 years, Betty Jane (Amen) Losh; two brothers, Glenn A. Losh and Clarence D. Losh; and a sister, Elinor Eileen (Losh) Beamer.

A private family graveside service, with military honors, was Monday, Oct. 24, 3:30 p.m., in the Cedar Cemetery in Montrose.

Arrangements were handled under the direction and care of the Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory in Montrose.
