McCOOK, Nebraska --Phyllis Irene Marsh, 94, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.

She was born to William G. and Ellen (Fosberg) Olson on April 17, 1917, in Minden, Nebraska. She was two years old when the family moved to McCook in 1919. She graduated from McCook High School in 1935, and attended McCook Jr. College for one year.

On April 9, 1939, Phyllis married Carl Frederic Marsh at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook, Nebraska.

The couple remained in McCook where they were involved in the family business, the Marsh Insurance Agency. Phyllis continued to stay actively involved with the business for many years.

She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and P.E.O. chapter X. Phyllis was an avid bridge player and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Her three grandsons were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, on Jan. 8, 1986; two brothers, Axel Olson and Elmer Olson; two sisters, Mildred Swan and Alvina Norman; and two nephews, Don Olson Sr. and Tom Remington.

Phyllis is survived by one son, Bill Marsh of McCook, Nebraska and daughter, Jane (Marsh) Lenners and her husband, Danny of Imperial, Nebraska; three grandsons, Gabe Lenners and Grant Lenners of Imperial, Nebraska and Chase Marsh of Los Angeles, California; and one sister, Ada Remington, of McCook. Phyllis also has numerous nieces and nephews who were an important part of her life.

Memorials may be given in her name and visitation will be at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook and will be Monday and Tuesday, November 21 and 22, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, at Memorial United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Lance Clay officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be a celebration of Phyllis's life following at the Bieroc Cafe in McCook.
