Tribute: Dorothy Anna Vaughan was born in McCook, Neb., to Wilber and Bessie (Abbott) Fisk.
She married George L. Vaughan on Jan. 28, 1939, at Grand Island, Neb.
She graduated from McCook High School, and became a registered beautician. She then went into nursing and became a registered nurse. She was a nurse at the Fort Morgan Hospital when she married George.
Mrs. Vaughan loved to go ballroom dancing with her husband and they used to go to Greeley to go dancing at the Armory. They both loved to bowl, hunt and travel.
She was an awesome housewife, cook, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to can and cook. She also loved her flowers and gardening. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Vaughan died at her home in Eaton.
Survivors: Her children, Wilber Pat Vaughan, Melvyn and wife Judy Vaughan, all of Lakewood, and Kathy A. Vaughan of Eaton; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Her parents; a brother, Charles Anders; and sisters, Francis Foster and Emily McLanghlin.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Thursday in the Reflectory at Northern Colorado Crematory in Greeley.
