Chester Balius - Class Of 1942

Peter (Chet) Balius, who was employed as a miller at the Crete Mills, died July 8 after he suffered an apparent heart attack while at work. Balius, 52, was born to William A. and Katherine Kummer Balius at McCook on March 13, 1924. He served in the U.S. Air Force from December of 1942 to January of 1946. On January 13, 1948 he was married to Louise Webster at McCook. He and his wife lived at 1240 Longwood Avenue. Survivors include his wife, Louise; son, Steve of Gordon; daughters, Mrs. J.W. Hagler of Camden, West Virginia; and Rebecca at home; brothers, Roger and Wilber of McCook; sister, Mrs. Frank Circelli of Utica, New York; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Services were held Monday at the Kuncl Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A.O. Ernst officiating. He was buried at the Riverside Cemetery.
