OBERLIN - L. Sue Black, 53, died Thursday (June 4, 2009), at the Dreiling-Schmidt Cancer Center in Hays, Kan.

She was born May 12, 1956, in McCook, to Leo and Bonnie (Beachler) Weskamp. She attended St. Patrick Parochial, McCook High School and Colby Community College.

On Nov. 8, 1973, she married Terry L. Black in McCook. They lived in McCook until Terry got out of the service, then moved to North Platte. She was a licensed practical nurse at Oberlin Medical Arts.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was a Girl Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Weskamp.

Survivors include her husband, Terry of Oberlin; two sons, Kyle and wife, Leslie Brown of Park City, Kan. and Aaron and wife, Shelly of Lawrence, Kan.; a daughter, Teresa and husband, Jared Macke of LaGrange, Wyo.; her mother, Bonnie Weskamp of Oberlin; a brother, Bill Weskamp of Vernal, Utah; two sisters, Jennifer and husband, Dee Fortkamp of Palisade and Judy and husband, Les Fellows of Los Allamos, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m., Monday, at Faith Lutheran Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler officiating. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, beginning at 9 a.m., at the church.

A Sue Black Memorial Fund has been established.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
