Jan Stevens (Teague) - Class Of 1972

Nov. 29, 1953 - Nov. 17, 2016 CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Janice L. (Stevens) Teague, 62, of Castle Rock, passed away on Nov. 17, 2016, at her home in Castle Rock. The cause of death was Amyloidosis, a rare blood disease, that Jan has been battling since 2002. Jan was born in McCook, Neb., on Nov. 29, 1953, to Gwenn (Ream) Stevens and William Stevens. She was married in McCook on Oct. 9, 1976, to Sam Teague of Denver, Colo. They were married for 40 years and have two children, Travis and Kristin. Jan graduated from the Nebraska Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. Her primary nursing career was as a neonatal nurse, caring for premature newborn babies. After her diagnosis, Jan spent much her time raising funds for Amyloidosis research and supporting others who were diagnosed with the disease. Jan is survived by her husband, Sam; children, Travis and Kristin; grandchild, Annabel; mother, Phyllis Gwenn (Ream) Stevens; and siblings, Ashley, William and Michael. Jan's memorial service was in Aurora, Colo., on Dec. 14, 2016.
