Eldon Reynolds - Class Of 1951

A private graveside memorial service and inurnment for Eldon Reynolds will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Riverview Cemetery in McCook, Neb. with Chaplain Lonna Grabenstein, Brookstone Home, Health and Hospice, officiating. Eldon Raye Reynolds, 91 years of age, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Loomis, surrounded by his family on Thu., July 6, 2023. Eldon was born March 19, 1932, in McCook, the fourth of nine children of Francis and Lila (Campbell) Reynolds. He attended McCook Public Schools. In high school he met the love of his life Jeanette Roth. The couple married on his birthday in 1952 and spent 69 years of marriage together. In the early years of his marriage, he worked at Ravenswood Dairy, Moore’s IGA, and Safeway grocery in McCook. In 1964, they purchased the Naden’s store in Stamford, Neb. The family owned and operated Reynolds Grocery until Eldon’s health required them to sell the store. In 1972, he became employed at Becton Dickinson in Holdrege, working the night shift until his retirement in 1992. The couple remained in Stamford until their oldest two children graduated from high school. They then moved with their youngest daughter to Arapahoe, Neb. Together, the couple carpooled with area people to work at Becton Dickinson. In 1977, they purchased a home in Loomis, where they resided until his passing. Eldon and Jeanette were proud that all their children and grandchildren were college graduates and were looking forward to seeing their great-grandchildren be provided with the same opportunity. Eldon is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Deanna Reynolds of Loomis; daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Max Anderson of Omaha, Neb; and daughter, Rondalyn Reynolds of Loomis; four grandchildren: Courtney and Jessica Reynolds of Loomis; Nicholas Reynolds of Lexington, Neb; Josie and Dillon Laurent of Omaha; and Jocelyn and Nick Glore of Fulton, MO; eight great-grandchildren: Grady, Easton, & Parker Reynolds of Loomis; Judah, Jessa, Isaiah, & Ezra Glore of Fulton; Moses Laurent of Omaha; three brothers: Stan Reynolds of McCook; Kendrick Reynolds of Forsythe, MO; and Maurice Reynolds and his wife, Saundra of Springfield, MO; sister, Kathy Allerton of Loveland, Colo; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lila Reynolds; his wife, Jeanette; brothers: Robert Reynolds; Wesley Reynolds and his wife, Miriam; and Larry and Lavern in infancy; sister, Virginia Bolles and her husband, Robert; twin sister, Irene Tourtellotte and her husband, Clifford; and sister-in-law, Jeannine Reynolds.
