Bruce Beymer (Beymer) - Class Of 1948

Bruce Raymond Beymer, age 88, of Lincoln, NE passed away peacefully at The Monarch February 20th, 2019. Born on July 13, 1930 in Wausa, Neb. to Raymond James and Thelma Marguerite (Chittenden). Beymer. Bruce attended McCook High School, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he graduated with a Bachelors of Music. Bruce was an avid reader, enjoyed music and most of all, watching and discussing the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang for family weddings. "One Hand One Heart" from West Side Story was a favored request. Bruce's early years included enlisting in the National Guard, attending flight school in Fort Rucker, AL, teaching high school music, and directing the church choir. He later transitioned to sales. Bruce is preceded by the childhood death of his older brother Jimmy and parents. He is survived by Beverly, his wife of 66 years, and their four children; Linda, Steve, Deborah and Nancy, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Bruce and Bev lived the last 40 years in Lincoln prior to his passing.
