She was born April 8, 1922, in McCook, Neb., the daughter of late Jay and Bessie (Carter) Poore. Phyllis passed surrounded by her loving family. As a young girl she lived on a family farm in rural McCook. Phyllis graduated from McCook High School in 1939. On April 13, 1941, Phyllis married John Alberts in Oberlin, Kan. During her lifetime, she modeled for a local dress shop, owned and operated a dress store, worked with her husband and father at the auction house, and worked on the family farm with her husband. Over the years Phyllis was active in Does, Eastern Star, and American Legion Auxiliary. After losing John in 1994, she spent her time managing the apartment house until 2015. Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; son, Rodney Alberts; two brothers, Jack Poore and Virgil Poore; one sister, Eileen Rapp; one grandson, Raub Alberts; and one infant son.
