Dr. John Kahl, Hospital Head
Rosary for Dr. John A. Kahl, 55, of 1629 Summit Av., director of the Group Health Hospital, will be said at 7:30 o'clock this evening in the Bonney-Watson chapel.
Requiem High Mass will be sung at 10 o'clock tomorrow in St. Joseph's Church, with burial in Holyrood. He died Sunday in a hospital.
Born in Red Willow, Neb., Dr. Kahl was graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. He did graduate study in public health at the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins University.
For several years Dr. Kahl was director of public health for the state. He had been director of Group Health Hospital since 1955. He had resided in Seattle 20 years. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the American Public Health Association. He had lectured at the University of Washington.
Surviving are his wife, Georgette Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Alan J. Hemmen, and a son, James J. Kahl, all of Seattle; Three brothers, Carl and George, both of Minneapolis, and Paul Kahl, McCook, Neb., and a grandchild.
