Ruth was born in Oberlin, Kansas, September 29th, 1907 to John and Jenny Humphreys. Ruth moved to Yakima, WA where she met and married her life-long love, Fred Hardin, in 1950. With her husband employed at Hanford they relocated and became long time residents of the Tri-cities.

Ruth was a very determined and independent woman with a big heart. She was always quite involved and cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors.

Ruth loved cooking, camping, golfing, sewing and crocheting. The food channel, the Mariners and a being a devoted Nebraska Cornhusker were a few of her favorite pass times. Each year for more than 25 years, Ruth would spend hours making candy and giving tins full to neighbors, friends and relatives. She delighted in holding a pie party for neighbors and friends.
