After graduating from MHS, Max attended Hastings College and graduated in 1963. Max then moved to Arizona with his wife, Diane Schepler of Bertrand and worked for Dun & Bradstreet. Max was the youngest Reporting Manager for Dun and Bradstreet in its history. After his divorce, he married Ann Belsher in 1968 and moved back to Nebraska in 1971 where he worked for the Nebraska Dept of Roads as a District Liaison officer for the State. In 1974 he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which forced him to retire early due to disability. Max and Ann took a years sabatical and traveled the western part of the United States in a motorhome for about a year before returning to Scottsdale, AZ where he lived until he passed away in 1984. Max was very blessed with his friends and classmates from McCook as many of them visited him during his illness and kept his spirits up.
