Survived By: Donna, wife of 49 years. Son: Donny, class of 1980) and wife Pamelia (Rutherford) of McCook. Son: Dennis Sailors, (class of 1982). Daugher: Debra Friend, (class of 1984) and husband, Jim of Grand Island, NE. Grandchildren: Derek and Matthew Sailors of McCook, Mandy Friend (of Iraq) (in US Army) and Joshua Friend of Grand Island.

Don was a wonderful Dad to his children and very close to his grandchildren. He spent a lot of time with Derek and Matt since they livied here in McCook. Also with their Dad, Donny since he and Pam lived here too. He was so very interested in everything his grandchildren did. He was also the most wonderful husband anyone could hope to ever have and survived much of his life in ill health. He worked at McCook Monument Company until he retired Jan. 1, 2007. He only lived until April 20, 2008 where he passed away of Lung Cancer with his loving family at his side. He is also survived by two older sisters, Belva Earnest of Stratton, Gloria Schultz of South Sioux City, NE. and two brothers, Sherrill of South Sioux City, NE and Doyle of Sioux City, IA. Also sisters-in-laws, Phyllis Dowling of North Platte, NE and Kathy Larson of Wichita, KS., and many nieces and nephews. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
