Linda Grabowski (Grabowski) - Class Of 1977

Linda Ann Grabowski

Linda Ann Grabowski died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Community Hospital in McCook after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 50 years old.

Linda was born in Wilimgton, Delaware to Francis Joseph and Martha Mary (Ziemienieski) Grabowski, Sr. She moved with her family in 1973 to the McCook community. She graduated from McCook High School in 1977 and attended McCook Community College. She completed her education at Kearney State College graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

She was employed with the Nebraska Social Services and later started working for the Nebraska Department of Roads as a clerk. She was working there at the time of her death.

Linda was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Altar Society. She loved following her son, Michael, in all of his activities, hardly ever missing a sporting event. She also loved spending time with her many friends.

Preceding her in death were her father, Francis Grabowski and grandparents.

Survivors include her son, Michael Thomas Grabowski of McCook; mother, Martha “Marty” Grabowski of McCook; two brothers, Francis “Fran” Grabowski, Jr. and wife, Tammie, of Kalamazoo, MI and Gregory Grabowski of Tallahassee, FL; one sister, Karen and husband, John Kuxhausen, of Loveland, CO; nieces and nephews, Emmy Seaton, Andrew Grabowski, Kellen Seaton, Justin Grabowski, Marta Grabowski, Nathan Grabowski and Joseph Kuxhausen; and a multitude of friends.

Memorials were to be given in her name.

Rosary was on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, March 19, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.

Enjoyed visiting thru the years at wrestiling meets across the state. Also enjoyed the times you stayed with us when you came to North Platte.

Karen Grabowski (Kuxhausen) (1983)

Linda always looked forward to reunions and the chance to catch up with her friends.  I know she'll be with all of us in spirit.  I'll be missing you, as always, my sister, my friend.  How will I ever know anyone's name without you to tell me????  I miss you and love you so much!
